Tropy for Research Photo Management

Prerequisites:

None

Tropy is a free, open-source desktop application that allows you to store, organize, and describe your research photos, such as those taken in archives. It makes organizing and studying your research photos easy so that you can use them more effectively. In this workshop, we will cover the following topics:

  • Install Tropy and start a new project
  • Add metadata and notes to your photos
  • Organize and search your photo collection
  • Export items to PDFs
  • Create and apply a customized metadata template
  • Install Fondren Zotero templates, and export items to Zotero for citation management
